Points on a chart where a pause, or the reversal of a prevailing trend, is likely to occur. Once an area of support or resistance has been identified, it provides valuable potential trade entry or exits points. This is because, as price reaches a point of support or resistance, it will do one of two things: bounce back away from the support or resistance level or violate the price level and continue in its direction.

Trend

The general direction of a stock or an price of an asset.Trends can vary in length from short, to intermediate, to long term. as strategy, it is best to trade with trends, meaning that if the general trend of the market is heading up, you should be cautious buying positions that rely on the trend going in the opposite direction
